Panzer V “PANTHER” Panzer-Division Müncheberg.
The Panzer Division Müncheberg was an armored division of the Heer, formed in the last months of World War II. He took the name from the place where it was officially formed in March 1945, which is the city of Müncheberg. His only commander was Major General Reserve Werner Mummert.
When the war ended, the Müncheberg was still undergoing training. However, framed in the 56th Panzer Corps of General Helmuth Weidling and has only a few dozen tanks Panther, was immediately deployed on the Oder front to counter the powerful final offensive of the Red Army in the direction of the Battle of Berlin.
