German soldiers inspect an abandoned Soviet KV-2 heavy tank. The KV-2 was armed with a massive 152mm howitzer which fired a devastating high explosive round capable of knocking out any German tank and proved to be an effective psychological weapon. During the Battle of Raseiniai a single KV-2 tank held up the entire German 6th Panzer Division for a whole day until it ran out of ammunition. Soviet Union. June 1941.
